Teeth Cleaning
Also known as oral prophylaxis. Most dentists would employ a dental hygienist for this procedure, but Dr. Medina chooses to do his own cleanings for several reasons. He takes this time to get to know the patient’s oral habits, concerns, and specific needs. A more thorough examination is done at this stage as he goes through every tooth and examines the gums and soft tissues in the mouth. After the procedure, Dr. Medina will determine the frequency at which this procedure is required for the patient to maintain their future dental well-being. Patients with good oral hygiene and no problems foreseen would typically be on a six-month recall. Patients with more serious oral health issues would require more frequent maintenance visits.
